Domaine du Lazaret welcomes families, groups, associations and business events to its seafront location. Our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) approach is based on concrete actions: waste sorting and recovery, water/energy conservation, catering with a focus on local and seasonal produce, alternative mobility, electric vehicle charging stations. Far from being a simple sales pitch, our approach is based on real convictions, a real natural commitment to the values we have upheld since the estate was founded in 1865!

A responsible, concrete and progressive approach

Sustainable tourism in Sète, without abstract promises

CSR is not just an isolated argument. It must be reflected in our day-to-day organization: sorting, catering choices, upkeep of facilities, reducing consumption, welcoming visitors and guiding groups.

Our environmental charter is based on a simple principle: reduce the impact of our activities, raise awareness among our teams and customers, improve practices over time and encourage everyone to participate during their stay.

Four visible commitments during your stay

Easy-to-understand actions for holidaymakers, groups and seminar organizers.

Sorting & recycling

Sorting zones in the park, common areas and main rooms. Dedicated channels for packaging, batteries, textiles, cigarette butts and biowaste.

Responsible meals

Seasonal products, locally sourced whenever possible, vegetarian alternatives and special diets on request.

Water & energy

Consumption monitoring, water economizers, presence detectors and centralized energy management in rooms.

Mobility

Transport access, mobility alternatives, bike rental, maritime shuttle and electric vehicle charging stations on the estate.

Waste, sorting and recycling

Clear instructions for residents and groups

Sorting is organized in several areas of the estate: park, walkways, Lucien Benoît lounge, Mediterranean, Cette and Chalet rooms. The instructions distinguish between household waste, recyclable packaging, biowaste, glass, textiles, cigarette butts, batteries and rechargeable batteries.

  • Packaging: cardboard, plastic bottles, cans and metal packaging.
  • Biowaste: bio-bins available in the Lucien Benoît lounge and common rooms.
  • Cigarette butts: deposit only in the ashtrays provided, with collection and recycling.
  • Batteries: dedicated collection box in the Lucien Benoît lounge.

The aim is to reduce residual waste, encourage recycling and involve participants without making their stay more complex.

Catering

Local, seasonal, balanced

Catering favors a variety of meals, seasonal produce and local sourcing whenever possible. Requests for special diets can be considered on request.

For seminars, the challenge is also operational: keep the work flowing, avoid travel and offer breaks that fit in with the program.

Water & energy

Sobriety in everyday life

The estate tracks its water and electricity consumption, installs devices to limit waste and equips its rooms with centralized energy management.

Common areas are also designed to reduce unnecessary use, thanks in particular to presence detectors.

Mobility & recharging

4 on-site terminals

Le Lazaret offers useful solutions for low-carbon stays: mobility alternatives, bike rental, access to the maritime shuttle and electric vehicle charging stations.

On site: 4 charging stations, including 3 7 kW stations and one 22 kW station. Each terminal has two charging points: T2 and domestic.

Seminars and groups: organizing without duplicating travel

Unity of location, on-site meals, on-site accommodation

A responsible event also starts with a clear organization. By bringing together meeting rooms, catering, accommodation, breaks and outdoor areas on the same site, Le Lazaret limits unnecessary shuttling and keeps participants in a common rhythm.

For meetings, conventions, study days and residential seminars, this unity of place also facilitates good practices: sorting in work areas, coordinated meals, better-sized breaks, better-directed waste and a single contact to anticipate needs.

Accessibility

The venue and activities are designed to cater for a wide range of audiences. Specific requests must be notified in advance to adapt the organization of the stay or event.

Territory

Le Lazaret is part of a living territory: local resources, local partners, regional products, cultural events, short circuits whenever possible.

Reuse

The estate is working to limit unnecessary packaging, promote the second life of certain materials and furnishings, and improve its practices year after year.

A continuous improvement approach

Inform, measure, adjust

Le Lazaret’s CSR approach is not presented as a fixed result. It is part of a continuous improvement process: training teams in eco-actions, informing residents, monitoring consumption, reducing waste, maintaining green spaces without pesticides and gradually integrating new actions.

The estate is also committed to obtaining the Clef Verte label. This mention should be understood as an ongoing process, and not as an acquired certification until the label is officially obtained.
